Katie is integral to Kumar & Associates, serving as Associate Principal, Business Development. She began her career at Kumar over 25 years ago and started in the industry at just 18 when her aunt recruited her at a previous geotechnical engineering firm after high school to work in the material testing department, providing administration support while she took night classes. Katie’s role at Kumar & Associates expanded over time as she worked in various departments and roles. After ten years of serving as lead proposal manager, she was promoted to her current role in business development, where she is responsible for identifying work for Kumar’s six offices across Colorado. Katie is well-connected in the industry and a go-to person for relationship-building in the AEC industry.

For the past 14 years, Katie has been a beacon of selflessness and community service at Project Angel Heart. Every other Saturday, she dedicates her time and energy to organizing meals for distribution to those with life-threatening illnesses. Her work in this collaborative environment, where everyone is united by a single mission of helping others, is truly life-affirming.

Aside from her professional and volunteer life, Katie’s family has deep roots in Colorado, going back generations. She is a proud grandmother to a 6-year-old and a 1 year old, and cherishes her closeness with her daughter and grandchildren.
