Pamela has a long-standing marketing and business development career in the Denver area AEC industry. She is an Associate at DLR Group (an international firm), leading Colorado’s K12 business development efforts. Pamela formulates business development strategies, works with executive staff, and collaborates with colleagues to develop effective business development approaches. Her experience in the K12 market AEC industry began in 2010 while employed by another leading K12 architecture firm, where she began building her far-reaching network of K12 leaders and service providers. She has spearheaded multiple initiatives, including CRM implementation, client capture planning, and unique marketing campaigns.
Pamela’s dedication to K12 public education was inspired by her family’s deep-rooted personal history with Colorado K12 schools. Her dad and aunt taught in Denver Public Schools for decades. Additionally, her great-great-grandfather was a pioneer in public education and the first licensed dentist in Denver. He has a Denver Public School, William Smedley, named in his honor.
Outside of work, Pamela enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. For many years, she and her husband have hosted open-house dinners for friends and family every Friday night. Pamela finds inner peace working in her home garden and maintaining her family’s historic 1920s cabin in the Pike National Forest.
